Condolence From: The Gallaghers
Condolence: In the past few days I have been thinking a lot about Kerry, as we all have. I cannot separate reflecting about Kerry without also focusing on the family who supported and learned from her. I feel blessed to have known her but also to have known her as an integral part of your family.
I was looking to ways to express my sentiments at this difficult time. I went to ancient literature to look for ideas and thoughts that have weathered the test of time.
An ancient Taoist story talks about builder. He found a large tree which he could not cut into lumber. Its branches and trunk were crooked and tough, covered with bumps and depressions. He complained that this different tree was not valuable as lumber. The builder his head to look away and he paid attention to it.
Another man came upon the tree a noticed spectacular tree. Its branches and trunk were crooked and tough, covered with bumps and depressions. He noticed the shade it provided, and a place rest under its sheltering branches, and he could stroll beneath it. He admired its character and appearance.
This story seems the analogy for me at this time. Kerry was part of your family not by fate but by design. You all were the builders that recognized and nurtured her gifts that may not have been obvious casual passersby. Kerry entered this world needing support and love as we all do. Her love and support needed to be different you gave her what she needed and more.
As an individual Kerry showed us all unconditional innocence, caring, and exuberance and she challenged us to view things from a different perspective. As a family you modeled openness to new ways to think, caring, and exuberance in Kerry’s accomplishments.
Her loss is great but her legacy is greater. Thanks for allowing our family to share in the joy that Kerry was and will continue to be.

With Love
Tom Gallagher

Condolence: I am so sorry for your loss. Although, I never had the pleasure of knowing Kerry or your family, I can only assume she fought a good fought, against PWS. My son has pws and those who are fighting are all warriors. Again, I am sorry for your loss.

Love,
The Christiansen Family
