Through the Years

There are too many stories I could tell but a couple that stand out would be the great pumpkin mystery and where are the cookies?

David and Al  and myself used to always play tricks and gags on each other

Well:

I got up one morning and went outside to get the newspaper and on my front lawn was a pumpkin that was about 200 pounds sitting on my front lawn. For the life of me I couldn't figure out where this thing came from or who could have even lifted it to put it there. For a couple of months I tried to figure out who could possible have came in the middle of the night and did this. Was it a boyfriend of my daughter Nikki or a friend of my son Al? Nope. I finally found out when someone slipped and it turned out to be my two nephews playing another gag on me. I couldn't out do this one as, believe me I have pulled off some good ones on these two guys but this one topped it. I had to get a saw to cut it into pieces to put it out for the garbage.

The other one is the peanut butter cookies mystery: My niece Jenine made them for me, which are my favorites, and brought a batch for me when we were at David's house for a cook-out. Well when it was time to leave I could'nt find the platter of cookies or my slippers I had brought also. So David said call Al as he had left earlier. When I called, Alan's wife Laura answered and I asked for him and she said the last time she saw him he was sitting on the bed in brown slippers eating a dish of peanut butter cookies. Yup, my slippers and my cookies. They got me again!

It has always been that way between my nephews and myself and the bond we had was more than anyone could have possibly wished for or people wish they had. This is the way we lived and the amount of love we shared among us.

I would not trade anything in the world for the memories I have with my nephews and the time we have shared together.

There are so many other stories I could tell but there are not enough pages to write them. I hope others have had such a relationship with a person as I have had with David.

You will be always in my heart and my family.
