D’Ambrosia, Joseph J. “Youngie”
Gates: Surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, in his 98th year. Predeceased by his brothers, Guy, Anthony, Alphonse and Jim D’Ambrosia; sisters, Geraldine Amadio and Rose D’Ambrosia. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Jeanette (DiPonzio) D’Ambrosia; children, Gerard (Mary Sue) D’Ambrosia, JoAnne (Charles) Placito, Jeanine (Thomas) Noto; grandchildren, Ken (Cheryl) D’Ambrosia, Scott (Jean) D’Ambrosia, Kara (Brian) Coleman, Michael (Kelly) Placito, Alyssa (David) Stevens, Matthew and Mackenzie Noto; great grandchildren, Cody, Mason, Leah and Claire; sister-in-law, Alice D’Ambrosia; many nieces and nephews. Mr. D’Ambrosia served in the Army Infantry in Germany and Czechoslovakia during WWII, was a 38 year retiree of Eastman Kodak Co. and a member of the YMCA for over 65 years.
No prior calling. On Saturday morning, December 30, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 9:30 in St. Theodore’s Church, 168 Spencerport Rd. Interment, private. Those wishing, donations may be directed to NYS Veteran’s Home, 220 Richmond Ave., Batavia, NY 14020 in his memory. His family would like to thank the staff at NYS Veteran’s Home for their loving and compassionate care.
