Corona, Josephine A. “Josie”
January 18, 2018, peacefully with her 2 daughters by her side. Born in her beloved Scottsville NY into the incredible Gallo family. Predeceased by her husband, Anthony F. Corona; mother and father, Josephine (Ballister) Gallo and Antonio Gallo; son Joseph A. Corona; her brothers and sister in laws: Joseph & Dee Gallo, Girlando & Jessie Gallo. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen M. Corona, and Marianne (George) Corona-Wilcox; grandchildren, Justin Wilcox (Linda), Eric Wilcox (Mary Beth Cleary), Heather Corona and Joe (Amanda Smith) Corona; great grandchildren Kelsi, Quinnlin, Evelyn, Brennan, Torin, Everett, Brody and Brielle; brother and sister in law, Sam and Pat Gallo; sister, Joanne Nicolucci; her aunt, Frances Scarson; and her extended Wilcox-Cummings Family, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Josie was a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She went to Continental School of Beauty and was a hairdresser at Beauty Villa for many years. She kept her sense of humor and smile until the end. Special thanks to the Angels that cared for her: Kathleen, Chris, Linda W, Linda C, Judy, her incredible neighbors in the 19th ward and the staff of the ACE unit at Highland Hospital.
Friends may call FRIDAY from 4:00-7:00PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Rd., Gates. On Saturday, January 27, all are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 10:00 in St. Monica’s Church, 831 Genesee St. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice in her honor.
