Oister, Franklin "Bud"
Gates: Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at age 90. Predeceased by his brothers, Tom and Charlie Oister; sister, Helen Oister. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Arlene Oister; children, Dave Oister, Kathy (Richard) Gostling, Karen (Phil) Johnson, John (Jolene) Oister; grandchildren, Rich (Kim) Gostling, Matt (Beata) Gostling, Pete (Heather) Gostling, Tim Duemmel, Sara Johnson, Stephanie Duemmel, Eric Johnson; great grandchildren, Tyler, Hailey and Ryan; sisters-in-law, Lucille Oister, Betty Oister, Betty Brown, Gwen Wilson, Ann Funk; many nieces and nephews. Bud served the town of Gates for 34 years as Chief of the Auxillary Police. He was also a retiree of Eastman Kodak Co., where he played fast pitch softball, and was an Army Veteran of WWII.
Friends may call FRIDAY from 4-8PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc.,219 Spencerport Road, Gates. On Saturday morning, May 14, friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 9:30 in St. Theodore's Church. Interment, Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Camp Good Days and Special Times, 1332 Pittsford-Mendon Rd., Mendon, NY 14506 in his memory.
