Gates: Sunday, January 6, 2019, at age 97. Predeceased by her husband, Carl Basile; granddaughter, Lisa Caruso; son-in-law, Joseph Caruso; brother, Michael Fortuna; sister, Grace Vitale. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (John “Johnny Matt”) Matrachisia; granddaughter, Laurie Jo (Jason) Pusey; sisters, Vera Cantisano, Lonnie Williams; brother, Frank Fortuna; brother-in-law, Rocky Cerretto; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Basile was a member of the Eagles Club and a retiree of Rochester Products.
Friends may call WEDNESDAY, January 9, from 11:00AM to 1:30PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates, where her funeral services will follow at 1:30PM. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to American Heart Assoc., PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 in her memory.
