Obituary for Colette L. "CoCo" Fegan (Falco)

Colette L. "CoCo" Fegan (Falco)
Fegan, Colette “CoCo” (Falco)
Churchville: Monday, May 22, 2017, at age 69. Predeceased by her parents, Jim and Nina Falco. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michael Fegan; brothers and sister, Chuck (Kathy) Falco, Gene (Cathy) Falco of LA, Rick Falco, Anita (Jim) Battaglia; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Colette had many facets of her life. She was a sister, wife, aunt, career woman but most of all a friend to many. Some friendships she had for over 50 years. She started her career at MCC in 1966 as a student aid. In 1967, she became a full time employee. She has worked in the Admissions Office, Office of Transfer Placement and Financial Aid. Colette received A Support Staff Award in 1990 for her contributions above and beyond her departmental duties. She showed excellent service to students, faculty and staff. In 1994, she moved to The Office of Workforce Development and Technical Education as an administrative assistant until her retirement in 2005. In 2005, she received The President's Award given to an employee who has consistently gone above and beyond. She also served on many committees during her time at MCC. She has made many friends over her 37 years at MCC. During her time at MCC she made friends with some ladies who eventually became known as the "Ladies of Letchworth". They shared many things throughout the years. One of them being going camping at Letchworth State Park. Oh the laughs they had!
Colette always thought of others first. She was a fun-loving person and always gave and went the extra mile. She spoiled her nieces and nephews, and as adults, they weren't just family but considered them friends. During the past 7 years of going to Unity Dialysis in Spencerport, those people became a special part of her life too. Even during this time she spent at the hospital she made an impression on the staff there.

To say that Colette was a special person is putting it mildly. She will surely be missed by all that knew her.

Friends may call THURSDAY, June 1, from 4-8PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. Funeral services and interment, private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Monroe Community College Foundation, 1057 E.
