Casher, David A.
Gates: passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017, at Unity Hospital following complications from cardiac arrest with his wife by his side. He was born in Albion on August 4, 1948, and grew up in Lyndonville and Medina and graduated from Medina High School in 1966. He received his Associates from MCC and then attended Geneseo State. David worked for the Rochester Housing Authority from 1980 until he retired .
David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janet, and his sons, Sean (Lindsey) and Corey (Chelsea) Casher; sister in law, Cindy Wood; niece, Jamielyn (Darek) Bator and his grand-nephew, Bradley Bator as well as cousins.
David’s greatest joys in life were spur of the moment adventures with his wife, Janet, and bantering with his sons about sports. He was active in every aspect of his sons’ lives from coaching in Gates Little League and Gates Bowl Junior Bowling to working on bottle and can drives and fruit sales with the Gates Chili Band Boosters. He was past president of the Rochester Amerks Booster Club. David’s proudest achievements were his family as he looked forward to the upcoming birth of his first grandson. He will be remembered for his knack of joke telling on a daily basis, and a great sense of humor.
